You’ll collaborate closely with staff, families, and community partners to ensure every student has access to meaningful, high-quality enrichment opportunities.

Position Summary
The Lead Teacher & Instructional Coordinator is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction while providing leadership, coaching, and coordination across after-school program sites. This role blends direct student instruction with instructional leadership to ensure strong program implementation, staff development, and positive student outcomes.
The Lead Teacher serves as both an exemplary educator and a mentor to teaching staff, supporting STEAM and enrichment programming while maintaining a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment. This position works closely with program leadership to align curriculum, strengthen instructional practices, and ensure consistency across sites.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Instruction & Student Engagement
- Lead engaging, hands-on after-school lessons with a focus on STEAM and enrichment activities
- Support academic development, creativity, and social-emotional learning
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students and foster inclusive participation
- Manage classroom behavior in alignment with program expectations
2. Instructional Leadership & Coaching
- Model high-quality teaching practices for staff
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and feedback to teaching staff
- Support onboarding and training of new instructors
- Facilitate professional development and team learning opportunities
- Promote continuous improvement in teaching quality and student outcomes
3. Program Planning & Curriculum Development
- Design and implement lesson plans aligned with STEAM and enrichment goals
- Ensure curriculum consistency and alignment across sites
- Adapt and refine lessons based on student needs and program data
- Collaborate with leadership on curriculum development and innovation
4. Site Coordination & Daily Operations
- Support day-to-day program operations and ensure smooth site functioning
- Assist with scheduling, activity planning, and transitions
- Ensure materials, supplies, and activities are organized and prepared
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-student ratios and supervision standards
5. Staff Support & Team Collaboration
- Serve as a point of support for teaching staff during program hours
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture
- Communicate expectations, updates, and feedback clearly
- Assist in staff supervision and performance support
6. Family & School Communication
- Communicate with families regarding student progress, behavior, and program updates
- Collaborate with school staff and program leadership
- Serve as a liaison between instructors, site leadership, and stakeholders
7. Program Operations, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure student safety and adherence to all program policies
- Maintain attendance records and documentation
- Follow licensing, safety, and emergency procedures
- Support compliance with organizational and school requirements
8. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor student engagement and program effectiveness
- Collect feedback from students and staff
- Provide input and recommendations to improve programming
- Support data tracking and reporting efforts
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or youth development experience
- Experience in after-school or enrichment programs (preferred)
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Interest or experience in STEAM and/or robotics (preferred)
- Leadership experience or ability to mentor peers
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 28.0 per week
