Lead Teacher Nature Preschool

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher for our Nature Preschool program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster early childhood development through outdoor learning and innovative teaching methods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, experience with curriculum development, and a genuine love for working with young children. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that promotes curiosity, exploration, and growth in preschool-aged children.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to outdoor and nature-based learning.
  • Plan and execute daily lesson plans that incorporate literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
  • Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children aged 1-5.
  • Utilize behavior management strategies to support positive social interactions and emotional regulation among students.
  • Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address concerns, and foster community engagement.
  • Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques as needed to support diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and prepare reports aligned with educational standards and assessments.
  • Supervise assistant teachers and classroom aides, providing mentorship and guidance on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, health protocols, and licensing requirements related to childcare and preschool settings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with preschool children in classroom settings; prior preschool or daycare experience highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, literacy education, and classroom management strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing educational programs that promote physical activity and cognitive growth.
  • Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention practices, standardized testing procedures, and inclusive teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to manage classroom dynamics efficiently while fostering a positive learning environment rooted in respect and curiosity.
  • Knowledge of Montessori principles or experience working within Montessori or private school settings is a plus.
  • Passion for outdoor education, nature-based learning environments, and promoting child welfare through experiential activities. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
