Position Summary
We are seeking a caring, organized, and experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool children while supporting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The Lead Teacher also works closely with assistant teachers and families to ensure high-quality early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior.
- Observe and document children’s progress and developmental milestones.
- Maintain daily communication with families about children’s activities and development.
- Ensure classroom follows OSSE licensing regulations and safety procedures.
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers in the classroom.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and learning materials.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
- Ensure proper supervision and maintain teacher-to-child ratios at all times.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (OSSE requirement for Lead Teachers).
- Experience working with preschool-aged children (3–5 years old).
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass required background checks and fingerprinting.
