The Early Childcare Development Center (ECDC) is a faith-based center located in Pontiac. We are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Our focus is on fostering early literacy, numeracy and linguistics skills, beginning with the youngest in our community. We are seeking passionate and dedicated teachers to join our team and support our mission.

Position Summary:

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for children to learn and thrive. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and families, playing a vital role as mentor, educator, and advocate for the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive and compassionate care to all children.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including storytelling, songs, games, and hands-on activities, to promote language learning.
  • Support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of each child.
  • Organize and maintain a clean, inviting, and resource-rich classroom.
  • Manage classroom behavior in a positive manner.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress and daily activities and encouraging parental involvement in activities and events.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s, CDA, Bachelor's, or required state courses.
  • At least one year previous experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm in planning and implementing educational activities.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
