Lead Teacher, Toddler Room

Position: Lead Teacher

Pay: $15.00/hour plus $800 monthly stipend

Schedule: full-time

About Moscow Day School: Moscow Day School (MDS) is a nonprofit early childhood education center serving families in the Moscow, Idaho community. We provide a safe, inclusive, and play-based learning environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to support every child’s development.

Job Overview: We’re looking for a dependable, playful, and warm Lead Teacher to join our team in the Toddler Room. Teachers in this role will primarily work with children from 2-3 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lesson planning and implementation of age appropriate activities.
• Lead day-to-day classroom flow and routines.
• Supervise and engage with children during all parts of the day.
• Support social-emotional development and implement positive behavior guidance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Build strong relationships with the children, their families, and your teammates.
• Demonstrate consistency, reliability, and adaptability.
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities; Idaho STARS training requirements for licensure.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood setting.
• Understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate expectations.
• Ability to implement engaging activities and daily routines.
• Comfortable managing behaviors using age-appropriate strategies.
• Willing to work within a team, demonstrating flexibility and
• Friendly, patient, and reliable team player.
• Experience in early childhood education (preferred, not required).
• CPR/First Aid Certified (or willingness to obtain).
• Completion of Idaho Department of Health & Welfare background check.

***Priority points given to candidates who are already CPR/First Aid Certified (pediatric) and/or have already passed a background check through the department of Health & Welfare.

Pay: $15.00 per hour plus $800 monthly stipend

Schedule:

• No weekends
• Moscow Day School aligns with the Moscow School District calendar; paid holiday hours (for full-time staff, after 90 day probation period) throughout the year, including major holidays, winter break, and spring break.
