AST Cleaning & Restoration is seeking an experienced and customer focused Lead Mitigation Technician to join our growing restoration team in San Antonio, TX. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on restoration experience who can oversee crews in the field, communicate professionally with customers, and ensure mitigation projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards.

The Lead Technician plays a critical role in emergency response operations involving water damage, mold remediation, fire cleanup, structural drying, and demolition services. We are looking for someone who leads by example, takes pride in quality workmanship, and thrives in fast-paced environments.

Position Summary

The Lead Mitigation Technician is responsible for leading field crews on mitigation projects, performing emergency services, monitoring drying progress, documenting jobs, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the restoration process.

This role requires technical knowledge, leadership, accountability, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to residential and commercial emergency mitigation losses
• Lead and supervise mitigation technicians on job sites
• Perform water extraction, demolition, structural drying, and cleanup services
• Set up and monitor drying equipment including:
• Air movers
• Dehumidifiers
• HEPA filtration devices
• Injectidry systems
• Conduct moisture readings and moisture mapping
• Document job progress with photos, notes, and daily logs
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and adjusters
• Ensure jobs are completed according to IICRC standards and company procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and warehouse
• Train and mentor junior technicians
• Assist with after-hours emergency response rotation
• Identify safety concerns and maintain safe work environments
• Support Project Managers with job updates and field reporting

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mitigation or restoration industry experience required
• Experience with water damage restoration and structural drying required
• Ability to lead crews and manage job site workflow
• Knowledge of restoration equipment and drying principles
• Familiarity with moisture meters and documentation software preferred
• IICRC Certifications preferred:
• WRT (Water Restoration Technician)
• ASD (Applied Structural Drying)
• AMRT (Mold Remediation Technician)
• Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and customer service skills
• Ability to work after-hours and on-call rotation as needed
