Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Techno-Functional Architect to support the Defined Concept phase of Client’s NDC/UPC Reform initiative.
This individual will lead enterprise discovery, map current-state system flows, assess integration impacts, and drive cross-functional architectural alignment across SAP, WMS, EDI, and serialization platforms.
This is a time-bound strategic role (March–June 2026) focused on delivering a Blueprint-ready scope and architecture foundation for regulatory modernization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Discovery & Workshop Leadership
Lead structured workshops across IT and Business domains
Facilitate cross-team architectural discussions
Identify upstream/downstream system dependencies
Capture risks, constraints, and integration gaps
Drive consensus on scope boundaries
2. Current-State System & Integration Mapping
Document end-to-end NDC/UPC data flows
Analyze:
o SAP item master impacts
o Manhattan WMS integrations
o EDI (850/856/810) transaction dependencies
o EPCIS/serialization event structures
Identify data transformation, padding, and field-length constraints
Produce system interaction diagrams
3. Technical Impact Analysis (10 12 Digit NDC)
Assess schema changes across platforms
Evaluate integration payload impacts (REST, EDI, Kafka where applicable)
Identify risk areas in external trading partner transactions
Define high-level transition strategy
4. Architecture Alignment
Lead solution discussions with domain architects
Evaluate refactor vs middleware alternatives
Ensure regulatory alignment with DSCSA and FDA rule
Contribute to Blueprint solution direction
5. Deliverables
Enterprise impact map
Integration dependency matrix
Current-state and future-state data flow diagrams
Risk register (technical)
Blueprint-level solution recommendation
Executive-ready architecture summary
Required Experience
12+ years in Supply Chain IT or Pharma IT
Deep integration knowledge:
o SAP ECC / S4
o EDI (X12)
o WMS integrations
o Serialization / EPCIS preferred
Strong understanding of data modeling and field-level impacts
Experience leading enterprise architecture workshops
Ability to communicate at Director/VP level
Experience in regulatory-driven programs preferred (DSCSA, serialization, etc.)
Preferred Skills
Pharma distribution domain knowledge
Experience with Manhattan WM/MAWM
Familiarity with GTIN / NDC standards
Ability to draw architecture diagrams (Lucid, Visio)
Strong documentation discipline
