Job Summary:

Jubilee Child Day Care Center, a ministry of Salem United Methodist Church is seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Toddler Teacher to inspire and nurture our youngest learners. In this vital role, you will lead a dynamic classroom environment, creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate space for toddlers to explore, learn, and grow. Your passion for early childhood education will shine as you guide children through their formative years, fostering curiosity and social-emotional skills. As a leader among staff, you will collaborate with team members to implement innovative teaching strategies that support each child's unique developmental journey. Responsibilities

  • Lead daily classroom activities designed to promote early childhood development in toddlers, including play-based learning, arts and crafts, storytime, and sensory activities.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and individual child needs.
  • Monitor and document each child's developmental progress, communicating regularly with parents and guardians to share insights and milestones.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining strict adherence to health and safety policies, including first aid procedures when necessary.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or caregivers in the classroom, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Manage classroom routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and transitions smoothly while maintaining a structured environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan special events or activities that enhance the learning experience and foster community engagement.
  • Uphold licensing requirements and organizational policies related to childcare standards, including experience working with children with disabilities or special needs when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental assessments in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications (any of the following combinations):

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and 1 year of experience
  • Child Development Associate Certification and 2 years of experience
  • 9 credits in Early Childhood Education with a Plan of Study and 2 years of experience

Skills

  • Proven experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting or similar caregiving roles.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills that create a positive learning environment conducive to growth and exploration.
  • Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively while fostering emotional resilience in children.
  • CPR and First Aid training (or willingness to obtain) to ensure immediate response in emergencies
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and children alike.
  • Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm, patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for teaching young learners.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to infant care, toddler care, childcare regulations, and daycare operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
