Appletree Preschool is looking for a loving and dependable Lead Toddler Teacher to join our Roseland team. If you’re passionate about guiding curious little ones through a fun, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment, we’d love to meet you!

About the Role

As a Toddler Teacher, you’ll care for and support children aged 19–29 months as they explore the world around them. This age group is full of energy, big emotions, and huge developmental leaps and your role is to help them grow through gentle guidance, engaging routines, and meaningful connections.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Full-Time)

Responsibilities include:

• Providing warm, consistent care and supervision throughout the day
• Supporting toddlers through daily routines like diapering, feeding, potty training, and transitions
• Leading activities that build fine motor, gross motor, language, and social-emotional skills
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment that meets all licensing standards
• Modeling and encouraging positive behavior and age-appropriate independence
• Communicating with families about each child’s day, progress, and needs
• Collaborating with co-teachers and administrators to create a cohesive classroom
• Participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma (CDA or ECE credits strongly preferred)
• Experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Understanding of toddler development and behavior
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, patient, and nurturing personality
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must meet all NJ State licensing requirements, including fingerprinting and background checks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
