Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom activities tailored to the developmental needs of toddlers, fostering exploration and social interaction
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical growth
- Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment by adhering to health and safety standards at all times
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and support each child's unique needs
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and caregivers to maintain high-quality care standards
- Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and consistent routines
- Maintain accurate records of children's developmental milestones, attendance, and daily activities
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, especially with toddlers
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure immediate response to emergencies
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs, including implementing individualized care plans
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to foster a nurturing learning environment
- Ability to communicate clearly with parents, colleagues, and children in a positive manner
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and caregiving practices such as babysitting or nannying
