To strengthen our underwriting team in Doha, we are seeking an experienced Lead Underwriter to oversee credit assessments and ensure sound lending practices.

Role Overview

The Lead Underwriter will be responsible for managing the underwriting process, evaluating mortgage applications, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, leadership, and the ability to balance risk management with customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the underwriting team to ensure timely and accurate loan decisions.
• Review and assess mortgage applications, financial documents, and credit histories.
• Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and risk frameworks.
• Collaborate with sales, compliance, and finance teams to support business objectives.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Mentor junior underwriters and provide training to enhance team capabilities.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing underwriting operations in financial services or banking.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, credit risk, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to RO1,950.000 per month
