Position Overview
The main function is to work with project teams to design and deliver high quality client-centered, effective, consistent and usable interfaces.
- Works closely with business analysts, business sponsors, project managers and IT teams to obtain and understand business requirements.
- Creates the design of user interface specifications, by applying client research, design standards, industry best practices, taking into account strategic business objectives, user needs, systems constraints.
- Participates in design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation.
- Executes business acceptance test cases and testing.
- Works with the project managers to ensure that usability deliverables accommodate project timelines, budgets, technical and scope constraints.
- Contributes to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability methodology/process, documentation, workflow, ROI, metrics and design standards.
- Acts as a user experience advocate regarding principles of user experience and user-centered design.
Responsibilities:
- Create and update documentation and graphics for design docs
- Build, fix, and test Figma components
- Create dev specs
- Design and test Angular components
- Collaborate with content and ADA accessibility partners
- Stay up to date on competitive analysis of other design systems
- Answer help desk questions
- Attend or facilitate open office hours
- Attend or facilitate early Design Reviews with product designers
- Attend or facilitate design system Design Reviews
- Attend or facilitate design system governance meetings
- Research, audit, and prepare topics for design system governance meetings
- Attend or facilitate working sessions across product design teams to align
- Work on special projects as requested
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Design System experience, ideally working on a design system (using at a minimum but hopefully contributing / maintaining)
- Figma experience - creation of components
- Jira • Confluence
- Product, UI, UX design
- Good Communication
- Presentation / Facilitation experience
- Critical thinking
- Systems thinking mindset
- Detail oriented
Pay: $55.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
