About the Role

Bryton Myler LLC is hiring a full-time Lead Video Editor / Story Producer to help create high-performing YouTube content for a channel with over 4 million subscribers.

This is not a basic editing position.

We are looking for someone who understands storytelling, pacing, emotion, retention, comedy, music, structure, and YouTube psychology at a very high level. The ideal candidate can take raw footage, understand the intended vibe and emotional direction of the video, and turn it into a polished final product with minimal oversight.

Our current challenge is not execution — it’s ownership.

We need someone who can independently shape the story of a video without needing Bryton sitting beside them throughout the entire process. The goal is for Bryton to be able to briefly explain the concept, hand over the footage, and trust that the final edit will match the channel’s vision and quality standard.

If you are someone who constantly studies YouTube, understands retention and storytelling instinctively, and naturally thinks like a creator rather than just an editor, this role may be a great fit.

Responsibilities

• Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage to final export
• Build compelling stories with strong pacing and emotional progression
• Select music, sound design, timing, and structure that elevate the content
• Understand and maintain the tone/style of the Bryton Myler channel
• Make creative editing decisions independently
• Organize footage and manage post-production workflows
• Collaborate with Bryton and the production team during planning and revisions
• Help improve overall content quality and viewer retention

Requirements

• Previous experience editing YouTube content is REQUIRED
• Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling and audience retention
• Ability to independently craft a compelling narrative from raw footage
• Experience with Final Cut Pro is strongly preferred
• Strong instincts for pacing, comedy, tension, emotion, and music selection
• Ability to receive high-level direction and execute without constant supervision
• Must be highly organized, communicative, and dependable
• Must be able to work partially in-office in Lehi, Utah

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience editing for large YouTube creators or brands
• Experience producing viral or high-performing YouTube videos
• Understanding of thumbnails, hooks, audience psychology, and retention metrics
• Cinematic editing experience
• Motion graphics/VFX experience is a plus, but storytelling ability is the priority

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in Lehi, Utah. Some editing can be done remotely, but in-office collaboration will also be required.
