Lead/Assistant Teacher (1+ YRS CHILD CARE EXP REQ)

Job Overview

Little Stars Child Care Center is seeking a dedicated Lead/Assistant Teacher to join our enthusiastic and caring team. In this role, you will help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development. You will collaborate closely with fellow educators to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision & Safety: Ensure the well-being of children at all times, maintaining a secure and healthy classroom environment.
• Curriculum Implementation: Plan and execute engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster physical, intellectual, and emotional growth.
• Daily Care: Assist with feeding, diapering/toileting, and dressing as needed while ensuring a clean and organized setting.
• Behavior Management: Use positive guidance techniques to manage and redirect challenging behaviors, fostering a respectful and cooperative atmosphere.
• Communication: Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, achievements, and any concerns.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to support smooth daily operations and uphold the center’s high standards of care.
• Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental milestones.

Qualifications & Skills

• Early Childhood Knowledge: Familiarity with preschool curriculum, child development stages, and best practices in early childhood education.
• Behavior Management: Proven ability to implement positive behavior strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Literacy & Education: Comfortable integrating early literacy and educational activities into daily routines.
• Special Education Support: Understanding of special education principles and experience supporting children with diverse abilities.
• Physical Activity: Willingness to incorporate physical exercise and play into lesson plans to encourage motor skill development.
• Experience: Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting preferred (leadership experience a plus).
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to engage with children, collaborate with coworkers, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
• Child Welfare & Safety: Commitment to following all regulations and guidelines to ensure children’s well-being.
