Duties

  • Greet prospective tenants warmly, providing engaging tours of available units and community amenities to highlight key features and benefits.
  • Effectively communicate leasing options, rental terms, and community policies while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations.
  • Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry through application approval, including data entry into property management systems such as Yardi or OneSite.
  • Conduct thorough tenant screenings, including background checks, credit reports, and verification of income and references to ensure qualified applicants.
  • Prepare and negotiate lease agreements, contracts, and related legal documents with attention to detail and adherence to landlord-tenant law.
  • Promote available units through upselling techniques while maintaining transparency about community rules, policies, and amenities.
  • Maintain accurate records of leasing activities, applicant information, and correspondence in accordance with legal administrative practices.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to coordinate property maintenance requests, move-ins/outs, and occupancy schedules using facilities management tools like CMMS or Landlord-tenant law guidelines.
  • Handle conflict management professionally by addressing resident concerns promptly and effectively while fostering positive relationships.
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, phone etiquette, and customer relationship management to ensure seamless office operations.
  • Assist in marketing efforts by participating in community events or outreach initiatives aimed at increasing occupancy rates.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in property leasing or property management with a strong understanding of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs, Section 8 housing vouchers, or similar affordable housing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite is highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and legal administrative procedures related to leasing activities.
  • Prior experience in sales or customer service roles with excellent phone etiquette and negotiation skills.
  • Office experience involving data entry, filing systems, contracts management, and customer relationship management tools.
  • Ability to manage conflict professionally while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for handling contracts, legal documentation, and leasing paperwork accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively interact with prospective tenants, residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Knowledge of facilities management practices (CMMS) or property maintenance coordination is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell units by highlighting features that meet prospective tenants’ needs while adhering to fair housing laws. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
