Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Law Department. This role reports directly to the Deputy General Counsel and Chief Litigation Counsel and provides comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to senior attorneys in the Litigation and Labor & Employment practice groups. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage confidential, time-sensitive assignments with discretion and initiative
- Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Perform clerical duties including typing, filing, sorting mail, and photocopying
- Screen, direct, and prioritize incoming correspondence to appropriate parties
- Maintain and coordinate attorney calendars and case deadlines
- Provide guidance and support to junior administrative staff
- Handle administrative functions such as maintaining attorney files, updating case/counsel lists, tracking deadlines, and organizing client meetings/conferences
- Correspond with courts, clients, and opposing counsel
- Process expense reports and ensure timely file close-outs
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3 years of legal secretarial experience in a law firm or equivalent corporate legal department
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word; working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and Concur preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, senior management, and clients
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong customer/client focus and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn new processes, procedures, and software applications
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
