Legal Administrative Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:

Immediate opportunity for highly motivated individual with outstanding skillset and desire to excel to provide in-person administrative (and possibly paralegal) support to group of attorneys in highly regarded mid-sized law firm in Columbia, MD. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Previous experience in legal/law firm environment preferred but not required.
  • Responsibilities include (but not limited to) providing admin support to group of attorneys and, if needed on occasion, to internal accounting group; drafting, proofing, and finalizing correspondence and legal documents; accurately organizing and maintaining complex paper and electronic files; interacting daily with clients and court systems, both by telephone and email, in a professional and polished manner; creating, tracking, updating, and distributing project spreadsheets; entering billable time for attorneys; and additional tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and within set time deadlines.
  • Successful candidate will be reliable in attendance; have strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills; excellent computer/tech skills including Microsoft Office with extensive experience in Excel and PowerPoint; and willingness to cross-train.
  • Must have keen attention to detail, and strong proofreading skills; critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • This position requires the ability to independently prioritize and multitask without daily supervision.
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with paralegal certificate/experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
