Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to support our Tax Department. This in-office position, based in Annapolis, will provide direct administrative and case support to attorneys handling a variety of tax matters, including tax planning, controversy, compliance, and transactional issues. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and proofread correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents.
  • Organize and maintain both electronic and physical client files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assist with preparation and filing of documents with courts, the IRS, and state agencies.
  • Track case deadlines, manage task lists, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Communicate with clients to schedule meetings and obtain necessary information or documentation.
  • Support attorneys with administrative tasks related to tax advisory, controversy, and compliance matters.
  • Coordinate with other legal assistants and paralegals across departments to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in a tax, corporate, or litigation practice.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while supporting multiple attorneys.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
