The Legal Advocate provides direct services and support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, with a focus on navigating the civil and criminal justice systems. This position is responsible for assisting clients with Temporary Protective Orders (TPOs), providing court accompaniment, and ensuring survivors understand their legal rights and options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in completing and filing TPO paperwork
  • Provide support and accompaniment to clients during court hearings, including TPO hearings
  • Act as a liaison between clients and law enforcement, prosecutors, and court personnel
  • Advocate for client safety and legal needs in court and community settings
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of services provided
  • Participate in relevant trainings, meetings, and outreach activities

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the legal system and trauma-informed advocacy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior advocacy or legal support experience preferred

This is a vital role in empowering survivors and supporting them through the legal process. Training provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
