We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to support our legal team across a variety of practice areas, including litigation, corporate law, and intellectual properties, and more. The ideal candidate will possess research, document management, and administrative skills to ensure the smooth operation of our law office. This role offers an excellent chance to gain diverse legal experience in a professional environment dedicated to client service and legal excellence. Dictation is a must.

Compensation:

$32 - $35 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Support attorneys with project management tasks related to ongoing cases and legal projects.
  • Draft legal documents with strong writing skills while proofreading for accuracy and clarity.
  • Knowledge of the New Jersey and Federal Courts e-filing system.
  • Transcribe dictations and prepare reports or summaries as needed.
  • Maintain communication with clients, courts, vendors, and other stakeholders via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and managing deadlines.
  • Support litigation activities through document review, case preparation, and coordination of court filings.
  • Utilize document management systems for efficient handling of case materials while ensuring confidentiality.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of various practice areas such as corporate law, patent law, and litigation procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, including LexisNexis.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Effective proofreading abilities to ensure error-free documentation.
  • Ability to transcribe dictations accurately under time constraints.
  • Familiarity with document review processes and contracts management.
  • Administrative experience supporting a busy law office environment, including clerical tasks like filing and data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette for effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
