Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC has an immediate opening for an experienced Legal Assistant to support our team in our Denver, Colorado office. What we are looking for:

Experience / Education Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a high-quality law firm working in a transactional setting
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Word is required (including formatting complex documents, styles, track changes, document comparison, and table of contents)
  • Strong technical skills with Adobe Acrobat Pro and DocuSign
  • Experience with NetDocuments or similar document management systems preferred
  • Highly organized, adaptive, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication, grammar, and proofreading skills
  • Strong service mindset with experience interacting directly with clients and other external parties in a professional and responsive manner
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Flexible, with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • A great sense of humor is always appreciated

General Responsibilities:

  • Format and manage complex documents with a high degree of accuracy
  • Communicate with clients and other external parties
  • Maintain and coordinate multiple attorney calendars and deadlines
  • File documents with state and county systems, including Simplifile and Secretary of State offices
  • Draft and edit correspondence and legal documents
  • Proofread and edit documents under attorney supervision
  • Organize and maintain files within internal systems
  • Provide high-level administrative and project support to the team

The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $68,000.

This range represents CP2’s good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and may fall outside of the range indicated.
