We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. <Responsibilities>
- Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development across diverse practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more.
- Manage legal documents through document review, drafting, proofreading, and transcription to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
- Organize and maintain legal case files using document management systems such as iManage and Clio; ensure proper filing and data entry for efficient retrieval.
- Support project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, scheduling appointments, and preparing case summaries or reports.
- Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information for various cases while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Prepare contracts, legal correspondence, pleadings, and other documents with precision and clarity.
- Provide executive administrative support including phone etiquette, calendar management, and organizational assistance to attorneys and staff.
<Experience>
- Paralegal experience or equivalent legal administrative experience demonstrating familiarity with law office procedures.
- Proven ability to perform legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research platforms.
- Experience working across multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, patent law or litigation is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting documents and correspondence with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in document management systems like iManage or Clio; familiarity with PCLaw is a plus.
- Effective interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette to interact confidently with clients and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, proofreading, transcription, and document review accurately.
