Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented legal assistant to provide essential legal and administrative support for our high-volume property tax law firm. This is a hybrid office position. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a professional demeanor. This role focuses document preparation, data entry and management, and client communication.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to support client appeal filings.
- Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents.
- Investigate facts to support client appeals.
- Record and store client information.
- Perform docketing for upcoming appeals.
- Other tasks and projects, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Candidates without a bachelor’s degree will not be considered).
- Two years of office experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and external parties.
- Some legal experience is helpful but not required, as training will be provided.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 annually.
- 20 days of PTO/Sick Time, up to 25 based on years of service.
