We are a highly regarded, client-centered law firm concentrating in estate planning, elder law, personal injury, and real estate transactions. Our firm assists individuals and families in protecting assets, planning for incapacity, navigating probate and trust administration, and resolving related legal matters with clarity and compassion.
We are seeking a detail-driven and proactive Legal Assistant with at least one year of law firm experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, document-intensive environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys working closely with attorneys on sophisticated client matters and who takes pride in producing polished, accurate work product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and revise correspondence, memoranda, and formal legal documentation from attorney direction and templates
- Support the development and finalization of estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and related instruments
- Manage document workflows from initial intake through execution
- Coordinate client meetings, document signings, notarizations, and witnessing procedures
- Maintain organized digital and physical client files in compliance with firm protocols
- Track deadlines, follow-ups, and court-related timelines
- Assist with probate and trust administration documentation
- Conduct limited legal and factual research to support client matters
- Communicate professionally with clients, financial advisors, care managers, and other professionals
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a law firm setting (estate planning or elder law preferred)
- Strong written communication skills with experience preparing formal documents
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word formatting proficiency required)
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Notary Public preferred (or willingness to obtain)
