The litigation legal assistant is responsible for assisting attorneys in the labor department by performing clerical and administrative duties and interfacing with clients, opposing counsel and their staff, court staff, vendors, and other individuals on behalf of the attorneys.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist attorneys by performing clerical and administrative duties.
- Type, edit and proofread correspondence and legal documents, frequently with short deadlines.
- Transcribe dictation.
- Answer phones for self and attorneys.
- Greet clients and respond appropriately to inquiries.
- Maintain attorney calendar and schedule meetings and other travel logistics.
- Maintain and organize files (both paper and electronic).
- File documents electronically with government agencies and state, federal and appellate courts.
- Manage online case docket within firm’s internal document management system.
- Process and monitor billing information for attorneys.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
This position requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience as a legal assistant/secretary. Civil defense litigation experience is strongly preferred.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; overtime is required, as needed.
