Position Summary:
The legal assistant is a vital contributor to our legal teams. In this role, you will support the delivery of quality legal services to our clients by providing administrative and secretarial assistance to attorneys. Responsibilities range from complex and specialized secretarial tasks to administrative activities, while working collaboratively with others in the local office as well as personnel in other Bradley locations. This position generally supports a group of attorneys as a primary assignment and provides back-up assistance to others as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and proofreads routine correspondence, memoranda and legal documents including but not limited to loan agreements, security documents, and due diligence memoranda.
  • Coordinates attorney calendars, manages client billing, processes new matters, handles mail/faxes, and maintains contact lists.
  • Organizes and maintains files, databases, and client correspondence, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation.
  • Anticipates the needs of assigned attorneys in order to promote timekeeper efficiencies (i.e., provides transactional support including management of closing checklists and conducting due diligence).
  • Communicates with clients, coordinates with internal teams, and liaises with government agencies.
  • When applicable, serves as a Notary Public.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience as a legal assistant required; Banking and financial services experience strongly preferred. Fintech, national security, and/or artificial intelligence experience also preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in mergers and acquisitions, deal structuring, operations, private equity, and/or venture capital investments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents and legal processes including understanding of federal and state banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel as well as document management systems, e-Filing and database software; NetDocs experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software programs
  • Exceptional organization, time management, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines
  • Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, resiliency and ability to adapt to change
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Various physical activity may be required
