Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support two attorneys in both criminal defense and personal injury matters.
This is a fast-paced position requiring strong multitasking skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Our office is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management
- Open and maintain client files (physical and electronic)
- Manage calendaring, deadlines, meetings, court dates, etc.
- Track case progress and maintain detailed case summaries
Client Interaction
- Communicate with clients via phone and email
- Provide case updates and assist with client questions
- Provide the clients with copies of discovery
- Notify client of next court dates and when they need to appear
- Guide clients through required sentencing requirements
Drafting & Filing
- Draft motions and letters
- E-file in Superior Court and Federal Court
- Email/file in City and Justice Courts
Discovery Management
- Request and track receipt of discovery
- Organize, label, and index discovery materials
Administrative & Litigation Support
- Request ADOT hearings
- Schedule depositions, interviews, and court reporters
- Request records (medical, police, audio, etc.)
- Prepare subpoenas
- Manage incoming State and opposing counsel filings
- Manage minute entries
- Answer phone calls
- Scan and sort mail
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of criminal defense experience
- DUI case experience
- Strong knowledge of Arizona court procedures and rules
- Experience with e-filing in Arizona courts
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
Preferred:
- Familiarity with billing systems (e.g., Bill4Time or similar)
