Legal Assistant — Real Estate | Abu Dhabi (with Sharjah & Dubai scope)

About the Role
We are a privately held real estate management company with a portfolio of residential and commercial properties across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. We are currently upgrading our operations and are looking for a Legal Assistant to support our in-house lawyer in managing tenancy disputes, bounced cheque cases, evictions, and contract-related legal matters across all three emirates.
This is a hands-on operational role. You will be working directly alongside our company lawyer, handling day-to-day case monitoring, document preparation, and coordination with courts and government authorities. The right candidate is detail-oriented, familiar with UAE tenancy law, and comfortable working across multiple emirates.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management
- Monitor all active legal cases across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah and ensure deadlines are not missed
- Track case progress from initiation through filing to resolution and closure
- Maintain organized records of all case documents, filings, and correspondence
- Flag accounts with outstanding balances or expired contracts that may require legal escalation
Document Preparation
- Prepare and organize documents required for legal filings: Emirates ID copies, tenancy contracts, cheque legal translations, correspondence, and court submissions
- Ensure Municipality-attested contracts are in order before cases are filed in Sharjah
- Prepare legal notice letters to tenants as directed by the company lawyer
Returned Cheque Handling
- Track returned (bounced) cheque cases and ensure action is taken within legally required timeframes
- Coordinate with the Accounts team on the status of returned cheques and outstanding penalties
- Assist in preparing cheque legal translations for court submission
Court & Authority Liaison
- Accompany or represent the company at routine hearings and administrative filings where permitted
- Liaise with relevant authorities in each emirate: Rent Disputes Committees, Municipality offices, and courts
- Follow up on filed cases and update the team on hearing dates and outcomes
Contract Review Support
- Review tenancy contracts before signing to flag legal risks or non-standard clauses
- Support the Sharjah team with contract approval workflows (contracts in Sharjah require legal sign-off before activation)
- Advise on penalty enforcement, early termination clauses, and tenant violation procedures
Requirements
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Law or a related legal field
- 2–4 years of experience in UAE real estate law, tenancy disputes, or a related legal practice area
- Working knowledge of UAE tenancy laws across at least two emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, or Sharjah)
- Familiarity with Tawtheeq (Abu Dhabi), Ejari (Dubai), and Sharjah Municipality tenancy registration systems
- Strong Arabic and English communication skills — both written and spoken
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple active cases simultaneously
- UAE driving license (travel between emirates is required)
Preferred
- Prior experience handling returned cheque (bounced cheque) cases under UAE law
- Experience dealing with Rent Disputes Committees or similar authorities
- Familiarity with UAE eviction procedures and repossession rights
- Experience in a property management, real estate, or landlord-side legal role
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
