Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Job Overview

We are a fast-paced insurance defense law firm looking for a sharp, motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in being organized and proactive, and enjoys being an essential part of the litigation process, we’d love to meet you.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our attorneys through every stage of case preparation and litigation — drafting pleadings, handling discovery, and communicating directly with clients. Strong drafting skills, confidence in client interaction, and hands-on experience with discovery are essential. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

Our office is located near NASA, and candidates must live within 20 miles of the 77058 area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, notices, and correspondence
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions)
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness files
  • Communicate directly with clients in English and Spanish
  • Conduct client intake interviews and gather relevant case information
  • Maintain case files and manage deadlines
  • File documents electronically in state and federal courts

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of paralegal experience (litigation experience preferred)
  • Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) required
  • Strong drafting and proofreading skills
  • Experience preparing and responding to discovery
  • Familiarity with court filing systems (state and federal)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment without supervision
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred
