Beyond Green Solutions is a growing collection agency, focused on resolving outstanding balances with empathy and respect.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Legal Assistant or Paralegal to support our internal legal operations in the fast-paced environment of a consumer and commercial collection agency. This role is focused on preparing legal documents, maintaining case records, and ensuring compliance with collection laws and court procedures. The position plays a key part in facilitating efficient legal action and helping the agency meet recovery goals.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare standard legal documents used in debt collection cases (e.g., complaints, default judgments, garnishment forms, subpoenas).
  • File documents with courts or send prepared documents to attorney teams.
  • Maintain and update case tracking systems with current case status, court deadlines, and filings.
  • Perform basic legal research related to collection laws and court rules across different jurisdictions.
  • Review account documentation for legal sufficiency and compliance.
  • Assist in coordinating the process and follow-up with courts regarding filings and court dates.
  • Communicate with courts, third-party vendors (e.g., process servers), and other internal departments such as compliance or client services.
  • Ensure all actions follow FDCPA, FCRA, and other applicable collection regulations.
  • Report on activity and accounts status to leadership.
  • Additional duties assigned regarding collection, client services, or accounting activities.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program preferred.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with collection or case management software is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of civil procedures and court filing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • Previous experience in a debt collection agency, legal department, or financial services setting.
  • Familiarity with state-specific rules for small claims, general civil, or post-judgment processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
