Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Workers Compensation Legal Case Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will support a wide range of legal practices by managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting with document preparation. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help ensure the smooth operation of our law office, enabling attorneys to deliver exceptional service to clients across diverse legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, litigation, and more. Duties

  • Manage and organize legal case files using document management systems such as MerusCase, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies in workers' compensation law
  • Assist with drafting, proofreading, and editing legal documents and correspondence with precision and clarity
  • Review and analyze legal documents for relevance and accuracy; perform document review for litigation cases
  • Support attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and client meetings by compiling case materials and managing schedules
  • Enter data meticulously into case management systems; maintain organized filing systems both digitally and physically
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones with professional etiquette, scheduling appointments, transcribing dictations, and supporting executive administrative tasks
  • Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as directed; gather pertinent information for ongoing cases
  • Assist in tracking deadlines and court filings to ensure compliance with legal procedures across multiple jurisdictions

Experience

  • Prior experience at a workers compensation firm, or prior legal administrative experience in a fast-paced law office environment is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workers' compensation law.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting reports and correspondence; capable of proofreading and transcription tasks accurately
  • Effective interviewing techniques to gather relevant case information efficiently
  • Competence in project management principles to coordinate tasks within tight deadlines
  • Exceptional phone etiquette combined with professional communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration

Pay: $25.17 - $30.31 per hour
