Job Description / About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Consultant (Civil) to provide expert advice and guidance on civil and service law matters. The candidate will support departments in legal compliance, contract management, dispute resolution, and policy drafting, ensuring alignment with applicable civil and cyber laws.
The Key Role Includes
- Providing legal inputs and advice on civil matters, including contracts, service matters, private partnerships, and collaborations.
- Interpreting laws, rules, and government notifications to guide departments in compliance and decision-making.
- Drafting and reviewing agreements, MoUs, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Coordinating with Central Government Standing Counsels and regularly monitoring cases in courts.
- Assisting in drafting government policies, circulars, and legal frameworks, ensuring alignment with existing civil laws.
- Advising on service law matters such as promotions, transfers, suspensions, disciplinary actions, and retirements.
- Assisting in framing service rules and policies in compliance with relevant laws.
Skills & Requirement
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience handling civil cases, cyber law matters, contract law, arbitration, property law, service matters, and constitutional law.
- LLB/LLM completed with specialization in Civil Law, Cyber Law, or Digital Forensics.
- Strong understanding of civil laws, IT Act 2000, and other laws applicable to cybercrime.
- Expertise in legal advisory, litigation, and cybercrime case handling (preferred).
- Excellent drafting, research, and advocacy skills.
- Strong coordination abilities with law enforcement agencies, judiciary, and cyber forensic teams.
- Relevant certifications in Cyber Law / Information Security with knowledge of IT Act, BSA, BNS, BNSS, Intermediary Guidelines, and RBI–NPCI Liability Guidelines (desirable).
- Experience drafting legal pleadings, opinions, contracts, and ensuring compliance.
- Practical experience appearing before courts/tribunals, especially in civil matters, drafting MoUs and reviewing agreements.
