Job Description
Job Objective:
Track functional strategy implementation and maintain the legal and regulatory database. Represent Beyon (and their subsidiaries where required) on legal and regulatory matters, advise on interpretation of legal frameworks and regulatory matrix, liaise with external legal counsel and ensure the best interest of Beyon in all recommendations
Strategic
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide expert tactical and strategic advice to business on the interpretation of laws and the regulatory matrix (orders, regulations, determinations, guidelines, position papers etc.)

Anticipate, identify and assess the Legal risks for Beyon. Ensure that the risk register is maintained and review risk mitigation plans

Track and report performance against strategic initiatives
Operational
-
Draft, manage and update corporate and regulatory instruments, documents. Review corporate and regulatory instruments prepared by team members / peers

Provide corporate and regulatory advice to business on matters requiring advanced consultation

Review business practices and new products & services from legal liability standpoint and track compliance to regulations under the Competition Law

Liaise with all relevant Business Units to comply with advanced corporate & regulatory reporting requirements

Design and ensure compliance with processes for advanced regulatory and corporate matters

Ensure that all relevant corporate & regulatory payments are timely processed

Draft commercial contracts and legal documents (including supplier agreements) that address end-to-end operations of the company.

Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting under given circumstances and negotiate settlements of disputes in the best interests of Beyon

Represent Beyon before government agencies, clients or other stakeholders on issues of law based on guidance received from the Head of Legal

Ensure that recommendations for advising Beyon on services are prepared in alignment with guidance from the Senior Legal Counsel

Monitor litigation (court cases, arbitrations etc.) and potential litigation (contract T&C adherence etc.)

Manage the relationship with legal representative (external legal counsel) - working on litigation and other corporate matters; track performance and support received in areas consulted

Monitor research of specific Legal/Regulatory issues, ensure that legal documents are summarized and legal forms are checked for accuracy. Monitor database with TRA regulations & updates on international regulations impacting Beyon

Maintain the online database to ensure availability of all legal and regulatory documents (including adherence to contract storage policy)

Implement procedures and controls at each Legal & Regulatory process, such that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to internal customers

Ensure continuous improvement of policies, processes, systems and legal templates

Take ownership for attending the trainings as per the plan

Take ownership for completing PMS process, employee engagement surveys in time

Continuously share the knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry and business trends
Skills
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Law.
Optional:
Master’s degree in Law.
Experience
-
5-7 years of relevant legal experience (mix of law firm and in-house preferred).

English language spoken and written skills.
Optional
Arabic language spoken and written skills.
Certifications
Membership of relevant professional councils is preferred
