It builds, owns and operates telecom passive infrastructure, providing services to mobile network operators. Helios Towers currently operates in 8 markets in Africa and Oman in the Middle East.”

Overview

As a Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Legal in engaging with stakeholders, drafting legal documentation, and ensuring compliance with Omani legislation.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for:

Strategic & Operational Delivery:

• Supporting the Head of Legal in legal entity administration including maintaining legal filing systems and drafting resolutions.
• Leading the preparation and coordination of litigation matters and liaising with external counsel.
• Assessing regulatory compliance and providing legal advice on Omani regulations and governance.
• Managing lease agreements, landlord coordination, and site acquisition documentation.
• Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and handling customer complaints.
• Supporting the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
• Building and maintaining relationships with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Ensuring compliance with the HT Code of Conduct and conflict of interest policies.
• Preparing board packs and assisting with board meeting logistics.
• Maintaining records of licenses and supporting departments in license renewals.

Requirements for the Role

• At least 2 years’ prior experience in legal drafting and a similar legal counsel role.
• Experience working in Oman with a solid understanding of local legislation. 
• Good stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational, planning, and project management skills with a proactive and ethical approach.
• Knowledge of Omani land, commercial, and corporate law; telecom legislation preferred.
• Fully competent in Arabic and English.
