About The Role
We’re seeking a highly motivated
Legal Counsel
to join our Legal Team at Fora to advise on complex commercial issues, governance, corporate transactions and a variety of other issues, including data & privacy and global regulatory compliance. This is a strategic, hands-on role in a high-growth technology environment reporting to the General Counsel – an opportunity to shape scalable processes and partner with business leaders to support Fora’s continued success and further accelerate the growth of Fora globally.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted legal advisor across our organization, partnering with teams like Business & International Ops, Travel Partners, Product, Advisor Experience & Finance.

Lead commercial contracting efforts by drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts, including customer contracts, partnerships, vendor agreements, SaaS/MSAs, marketing contracts, licensing agreements and NDAs.

Drive our corporate governance and compliance initiatives, ensuring we're operating effectively while adhering to applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

Analyze user and product experiences from a legal perspective, advising on compliance, risk, and business trade-offs.

Develop and implement policies, playbooks, and legal templates to standardize and streamline operations.

Provide counsel on pre-litigation disputes, risk management, and escalation strategies.

Stay current on legal and regulatory developments affecting membership business models, travel and technology, and proactively advise stakeholders on implications.
Requirements
-
5-7+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and in-house legal department in a startup, technology or other dynamic environment

J.D. and admission in good standing in New York

Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, with experience across a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, vendor and partnerships agreements

Business-minded, with the ability to operate independently in ambiguity and exercise sound judgment, think creatively through complex issues, balance legal and business risk, and escalate appropriately

Clear, effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build trusted relationships

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, cross-functional workflows, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Enthusiastic with proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, resourcefulness and willingness to step in where needed to fill gaps

Drive continuous improvement of contract templates and playbooks in line with evolving business practices and legal frameworks

Ability to work in the U.S.
Compensation
Compensation for this role varies based on experience, with an indicative range of $140K–$180K + equity. Final compensation will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as we’re considering multiple levels for this role.
