Job Title: Legal Advisor / Legal Head

Job Summary

The Legal Advisor / Legal Head will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all legal matters of the organization to safeguard its legal interests. The role involves strategic legal planning, handling court and quasi-judicial matters, drafting and vetting legal documents, and ensuring timely and compliant legal actions across the organization.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Legal Strategy & Planning
  • Plan and implement legal steps to protect the organization’s legal, commercial, and operational interests.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance to management on risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Court & Quasi-Judicial Matters
  • Handle and oversee court cases, litigation, arbitration, and quasi-judicial proceedings.
  • Coordinate with external advocates, counsels, and legal authorities.
  • Track case progress and ensure timely hearings and filings.
  • Legal Department Management
  • Strategically plan and manage all work related to the legal department.
  • Ensure effective execution and prioritization of legal tasks.
  • Due Diligence & Legal Compliance
  • Ensure due diligence in all legal matters, transactions, contracts, and organizational actions.
  • Take timely and appropriate legal steps in the organization’s legal affairs.
  • Drafting & Documentation
  • Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, MoUs, deeds, policies, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Notices & Legal Correspondence
  • Draft, review, and respond to legal notices, show-cause notices, and statutory communications.
  • Advise management on legal positioning and responses.
  • Legal Advisory Support
  • Provide legal opinions and interpretations to management and internal departments as required.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of corporate, civil, commercial, and labor laws
  • Excellent legal drafting and communication skills
  • Ability to manage litigation and multiple legal matters independently
  • Strategic thinking and risk management abilities

Educational Qualifications

  • LLB / LLM from a recognized university
  • Enrollment with Bar Council (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in corporate legal advisory or litigation roles
