About the Role
To provide legal guidance and advice across TAIC and assist the Company in understanding the legal implications of its actions and decisions .
Legal Manager reports to the Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities

Support the development and implementation a comprehensive legal framework to ensure TAIC operates in compliance with applicable legislation and minimise litigations and disputes

Review contracts, agreements and any other legal documents to ensure they are compliant with applicable legislations and regulatory frameworks

Review policies and procedures developed by other departments to ensure legal compliance and carry out periodic reviews of the same as required

Conduct legal research and assist with the investment proposals in order to provide legal advice on managing legal interests, risks and obligations of respective investments

Assist in mediation / arbitrations for settling disputes with investors and 3rd parties in line with contractual terms and applicable law

Ensure all legal documentation is maintained in an organised and confidential manner

Conduct legal due diligence process for all investment opportunities, partnerships, joint ventures, loans and transactions and provide legal advice and guidance as needed

Manage ongoing litigations either directly or through external law firms/ advisors

Record and track court decisions/notices to ensure suitable responses can be formulated within the given timeframes

Manage the resolution of corporate and major litigation cases and internal conflicts and communicate decisions to all relevant parties in a timely manner, ensuring the follow up, as required

Provide interpretation and advice on standing orders, protocols and legal statutes affecting the company requested from regulators

Ensure TAIC complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Participate in the selection and manage the relation with external counsels / Law firms and assess their performance

Liaise with Governance, Risk & Compliance to monitor and communicate governmental laws and regulations affecting the company
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Law with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
or
postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Professional certification, i.e. American Bar, preferred
