Job Role: Legal Officer (Looking for Retired Bankers from PSU who have handled similar role who have worked in Banks / NBFC )

Job Location: Chennai

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Legal Officer to manage compliance, legal advisory, and HR-related legal matters. Preference will be given to retired bankers from Public Sector Banks (PSUs) who have handled similar roles, as well as candidates with experience in Banks or NBFCs. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive knowledge of banking regulations and legal frameworks to ensure organizational compliance and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

· Investigate and resolve cases of cash misappropriation, ensuring timely issuance of Show Cause Notices and follow-up for closure.

· Manage employee relations and address grievances in compliance with legal and organizational standards.

· Draft, review, and update employment contracts, agreements, and internal HR policies to ensure legal accuracy and relevance.

· Provide expert legal advice on HR matters, labor laws, and regulatory compliance.

· Monitor changes in labor legislation and update organizational policies accordingly.

· Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with statutory requirements and organizational norms.

· Identify and mitigate legal risks related to HR practices and employment disputes.

· Liaise with regulatory authorities for licenses, permits, and statutory filings.

· Prepare legal opinions and assist in litigation or dispute resolution processes as required.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or related field; additional HR or compliance certifications are an advantage.

· Retired bankers from Public Sector Banks (PSUs) with experience in legal, compliance, or HR roles are strongly encouraged to apply.

· Strong knowledge of labor laws, banking regulations, and HR best practices.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
