Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and compassionate Receptionist / Legal Assistant to join our team specializing in family law and child welfare cases. This position serves as the first point of contact for clients and plays a vital role in maintaining organization, calendar control, and overall office flow.
This can be an entry-level legal position with significant room for growth within our firm. While prior legal experience is a plus, we strongly value candidates with customer service or administrative assistant experience who are eager to learn and grow in the legal field.

Key ResponsibilitiesClient Interaction & Front Office Support
- Answer incoming phone calls and route them appropriately.
- Greet clients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner.
- Manage inquiries and provide general information about services.
- Schedule consultations, meetings, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area.
- Sign for incoming packages.
Administrative Support & Calendar Control
- Maintain strict calendar control for attorneys and paralegals, including scheduling hearings, meetings, deadlines, and client appointments.
- Coordinate scheduling changes and ensure all parties are properly notified.
- Organize, maintain, and update client files with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Handle filing, copying, scanning, and document management.
- Assist with intake processes and ensure documentation is complete.Legal & Case Support
- Draft basic correspondence and simple legal documents under supervision.
- Help track case deadlines and filing requirements.
- Provide general case updates to clients as directed.
Client Support
- Provide compassionate assistance to clients navigating sensitive legal matters.
- Help clients complete required forms and explain next steps in the process.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, receptionist, or administrative assistant roles required.
- Legal office experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (minimum 2 years required).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dependable, professional, and proactive.
