We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. <Duties>
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
- Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to assist in case preparation across diverse practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more.
- Manage electronic and physical filing systems using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure all case files are organized and accessible.
- Assist with document review, data entry, and maintaining case management databases to support litigation, transactional work, or regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate communication with clients, courts, vendors, and internal teams via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
- Support attorneys with project management tasks related to complex legal cases or transactions involving UCC law, tribal regulations, patent law, or immigration law.
- Perform administrative duties such as transcription, proofreading legal documents, and managing deadlines to ensure timely filings.
<Experience>
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal administrative role within a law office environment.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and immigration law.
- Familiarity with legal case management software such as PCLaw and document management systems like iManage or Westlaw is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents along with proofreading expertise.
- Experience supporting attorneys with project management tasks related to litigation or transactional work involving contracts or regulatory compliance.
- Strong clerical experience including filing systems (both electronic and paper), data entry accuracy, and maintaining meticulous records.
- Superior communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette to handle client inquiries effectively.
