Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Secretary with strong law firm background to support our busy practice, with a primary focus on criminal defense case management. The ideal candidate will excel at monitoring calendars, tracking deadlines, filing documents, and keeping cases moving forward efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Some support for immigration matters will also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage criminal defense case files: track court dates, deadlines, discovery, pleas, motions, and hearings to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Prepare and file motions, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and other court documents.
  • Monitor calendars and remind attorneys of upcoming filings, appearances, and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, prosecutors, and agencies.
  • Provide support for immigration cases as needed (e.g., preparing applications for U visas, adjustment of status, DACA renewals, family-based petitions).
  • Handle general administrative tasks to maintain smooth case flow.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a law firm, with strong preference for criminal defense experience (case management, calendaring, filing motions, and deadline tracking are essential).
  • Experience or familiarity with immigration processes is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, fast-paced team.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) is strongly preferred but not required.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage: $24–$34, based on experience and qualifications.

How to Apply:
Please submit your resume, cover letter, and any relevant references or certifications via this platform (or email through our website). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We look forward to hearing from you!
