Role profile:
The Mens Shirt Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing Mens shirts that reflect the brands creative direction and aesthetic. The role demands a refined understanding of menswear design principles, fabric innovation, and global fashion trends, while maintaining impeccable quality standards that align with the brands positioning. The designer will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams to ensure each collection embodies sophistication, fit precision, and timeless appeal.

Key Responsibilities

Research and forecast trends in fabrics, silhouettes, colors, and detailing, particularly in shirts.

Conceptualize seasonal design themes in alignment with brand direction set by the Creative Director.

Develop cohesive shirt collections with detailed sketches, CAD illustrations, and technical packs.

Source and select premium fabrics, trims, and materials ensuring both aesthetic and functional value.

Work with pattern makers and sample teams to ensure superior garment construction, fit accuracy, and finishing quality.

Conduct fittings, review samples, and refine designs to meet luxury brand standards.

Collaborate with production and merchandising teams to ensure design intent is preserved through to finished product delivery.

Support marketing and visual merchandising with lookbook and campaign creative input.

Maintain awareness of competitive positioning in high-end menswear markets.

Ensure sustainability and ethical sourcing are incorporated into design and material choices.

Strong portfolio showcasing innovative yet commercially viable shirt designs.

Expertise in garment construction, pattern development, and fabric technology.

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD software, and PLM systems.

Deep knowledge of mens tailoring, fit, and finishing standards.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with creative and production teams.

Ability to interpret and execute creative direction with commercial sensibility.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Fashion Design or Textile Design from NIFT/NID or similar reputed institute

Experience:

6-8 years of experience in men's apparel design, specifically in premium or luxury shirts.

Others:
High aesthetic sensitivity and brand awareness.

Strong sense of trend interpretation aligned with regional sensibilities

Detail orientation with an emphasis on craftsmanship.

Flexibility to adapt to seasonal shifts and evolving design directions.

Passion for contemporary menswear and fabric innovation.
