If so, CRC Salomon is seeking exceptional individuals to join our prestigious legal transcription team, working for our federal, state, and local clients. CRC Salomon is proud to have many large, long-term projects, affording our legal transcription team the volume and stability they desire. As a Legal Transcriptionist, you will produce verbatim transcripts for our clients with standard turnaround time of 5 to 7 days, with some jobs available at higher rates with shorter turnaround times, so accuracy and typing speed are critical. We suggest being able to commit to at least 20 physical hours per week.

Job Responsibilities

• Transcribe legal audio recordings into accurate, verbatim written transcripts.
• Maintain 98%+ accuracy while following client-specific formatting and style guidelines.
• Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, consistency, and completeness.
• Research and verify spelling of names, terminology, and technical references.
• Meet assigned turnaround times (standard and expedited when accepted).
• Manage files and assignments independently using company systems.
• Comply with confidentiality, security, and federal client requirements.
• Communicate professionally with production staff regarding questions or issues.

Candidate Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Typing speed of at least 70 WPM
• Availability to commit to at least 20 physical hours per week
• At least 1 year of legal transcription experience
• Ability to ensure all transcripts meet or surpass 98% accuracy with strong attention to detail and research capabilities, as well as exceptional listening skills for verbatim transcription
• Exceptional written communication skills (proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar)
• Working knowledge of legal formatting requirements such as Bluebook OR any style guide such as GPO, GAO, Chicago, Associated Press, etc.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word 2013 or newer
• Experience with federal contracts a plus, such as DOJ, EOIR, FTC, and DHS.

Compensation: Per-page rate with occasional incentive increase based on performance and turnaround time
