Job Summary
The Legislative Aide will provide critical administrative and organizational support to ensure the efficient operation of the legislative office. This role is responsible for managing the Assemblymember's schedule, coordinating internal and external meetings, and supporting day-to-day office functions. The ideal candidate is highlight organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and organize Member's daily, weekly and long-term calendar
- Coordinate meetings with constituents, stakeholders, government officials, and staff
- Prioritize scheduling requests based on legislative priorities and district needs
- Prepare and distribute daily schedule and briefing materials to Member
- Serve as primary point of contact for scheduling purposes
- Track invitations, RSVPs and event logistics
- Answer phones, manage correspondence, and direct inquiries appropriately
- Staff Member at in person events and meetings when needed
Requirements
- Proven office management or administrative experience with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and data entry skills
- Excellent phone etiquette with experience handling multi-line phone systems in a professional setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks efficiently with excellent time management skills
- Weekend work may be required infrequently
Pay: $24,000.00 per year
