Level 2 Certified Welding Inspector

Karachi, Pakistan

Key Responsibilities:

•Perform visual inspection of welds in compliance with ASME, AWS, ISO, API, and project specifications.

•Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder qualification records.

•Inspect joint preparation, fit-up, consumables, and welding parameters for adherence to standards.

•Monitor welding activities during pre-weld, welding, and post-weld stages.

•Conduct and interpret dimensional checks on welds, joints, and assemblies.

•Review and interpret results from NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT) in coordination with NDT teams.

•Prepare and maintain inspection reports, logs, and records ensuring full traceability and quality assurance.

•Identify non-conformances, raise NCRs, and coordinate corrective actions with production teams.

•Liaise with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and project QA/QC teams to ensure compliance.

•Support the implementation of QA/QC procedures and quality plans.

•Ensure adherence to HSE policies and safe practices during inspection activities.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Karachi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Application Question(s):

  • Strong understanding of ASME, AWS, ISO, and API welding codes?

Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and welding symbols?
NDT certifications (ASNT Level II / ISO 9712 Level II in RT, UT, MT, PT) will be an advantage?

Education:

  • Intermediate (Required)

Experience:

  • of construction fabrication oil/gas or mining projects: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Level 2 Welding Insp – CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, or equivalent (Required)
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred (Required)
