Job Description:Full-time, ten-month, professional faculty position to serve as the evening working supervisor of the SFSC Highlands Campus Library. Evening hours and travel to other SFSC campuses/centers are required. Typical work schedule: Fall/Spring is Monday - Thursday 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm; Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Summer is Monday - Thursday 10:00 am - 7:00 pm; Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides information/reference services to library patrons at all SFSC campuses/centers.

Assists in the development of all SFSC Library collections.

Assists in analyzing budgetary needs of all SFSC campus/center libraries.

Assists in training College staff at the DeSoto and Hardee Campuses and Lake Placid Center in basic library services.

Provides library skills instruction.

Develops user education materials and other projects as assigned.

Maintains the currency of the library web page by acting as liaison to the College's Webmaster.

Maintains safety and security standards.

Provides input for goals and objectives for the short- and long-range development of the library.

Recommends revisions and updates to operating procedures.

Makes recommendations for improvement of all SFSC campus/center libraries.

Maintains a cooperative and effective working relationship with College personnel, as well as students and the general public.

Instructs others on copyright restrictions and the proper use and handling of library materials and equipment.

Maintains current knowledge of all Library databases and electronic resources.

Maintains knowledge of new Library materials and world news and community events.

Maintains current knowledge of routines and activities within all areas of the library.

Maintains current knowledge of the requirements and activities of the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) Library Services as it pertains to SFSC.

Participates in appropriate meetings and serves on College committees as elected or appointed.

Participates in local, state, and national organizations and committees as appropriate.

Maintains currency/proficiency by participating in professional development activities.

Serves as a resource on copyright procedures.

Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.

Acts in accordance with local, state, and federal laws/regulations as well as College policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Educational: Master's degree from an institutionally accredited organization in library science, learning resources, or information technology (or 18 graduate hours in library science, learning resources, or information technology and a master's degree in a related field) required.
Experiential: Minimum of one (1) year of library experience required; academic experience preferred. Library supervision experience preferred.
Other: Computer literacy required. Familiarity with computerized library services preferred. Flexibility in scheduling required.
