Responsibilities

• Assist patrons in locating books, magazines, newspapers, online resources and other materials
• Maintain accurate records of all library materials
• Ensure the library is well-stocked with books and other materials
• Assist patrons with computers and other technology
• Provide customer service to patrons
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment
• Organize special events such as book readings or lectures
• Create displays to promote new items or library services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required
• Knowledge of cataloguing systems such as OCLC or MARC preferred but not required
• Immigrant status accepted
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate with various types of people
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion
