Position Overview

The newly renovated West Fairlee Public Library is entering an exciting new chapter—and we’re looking for a passionate, community-minded leader to help bring it to life.

This is more than a part-time role—it’s an opportunity to shape a vibrant, welcoming hub for all ages in the heart of our town. We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual who thrives on community connection, enjoys working with people of all ages, and is excited to grow programs from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Loves engaging with the community and building meaningful relationships
  • Has experience (or strong interest) in children’s programming—from birth through early literacy—as well as teens and adults
  • Is comfortable using technology, managing digital tools, and maintaining an online presence (website, social media, etc.)
  • Brings energy, initiative, and creativity to developing programs, events, and outreach opportunities
  • Enjoys wearing many hats and helping a small library grow and thrive

Position Details

  • Position: Library Director
  • Location: West Fairlee Public Library
  • Hours: 14 hours per week
  • Compensation: Starting at $16.25/hour, with the potential for increased compensation following a successful probationary period and based on experience and qualifications
