Job Summary:

The Shepherdstown Public Library is seeking applicants for a part-time librarian to contribute enthusiasm and knowledge to our library community. This position will report directly to the Library Director and work 22.5 hours a week with a varied schedule that will include some weekends.

Essential functions:

· Assist patrons with locating resources and materials in both Adult and Children services.

· Plan, lead and coordinate Adult programming for the library – book clubs, digital literacy, and community outreach.

· Coordinate with local organizations and other libraries for programs and collaboration.

· Share knowledge, and understanding of library materials, both print and electronic.

· Assist with children’s programming including storytimes, as needed.

· Coordinate meeting room calendar.

· Help troubleshoot and maintain technology issues throughout the building.

· Help to maintain website and social media as needed.

· Assist with Adult collection development

Ideal candidate will have:

· MLS/MLIS degree from ALA accredited university.

· Experience in public library or school library setting.

· Friendly and engaging customer service skills.

· Has good organization and communication skills.

· Ability to work well with others and shows respect for all.

· Highly experienced with a variety of technology and able to guide and teach users.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
