Duties
- Manage and oversee all library services, ensuring access to a wide range of resources for students and staff
- Assist students with research projects, developing their information literacy and critical thinking skills
- Catalog and organize library materials using an integrated library system to ensure easy access and efficient retrieval
- Teach literacy education and information skills through classroom lessons and individual support
- Promote reading programs and coordinate activities that foster a love for books and lifelong learning
- Maintain classroom management during library sessions, ensuring a respectful and productive environment
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate learning technology into library activities and curriculum support
- Implement behavior management strategies to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably with classroom experience in literacy or research instruction
- Strong knowledge of library services, cataloging procedures, and integrated library systems
- Excellent writing skills for creating instructional materials, reports, and communication with students and staff
- Effective communication skills to engage with children, educators, parents, and community members
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple resources and coordinate programs efficiently
- Ability to teach classroom management techniques alongside literacy education strategies
- Familiarity with learning technology tools used in modern libraries and classrooms
- Knowledge of behavior management principles to foster a respectful learning environment
- Passion for promoting literacy education and supporting students’ academic growth
Pay: $31.74 - $38.22 per hour
